The last King of AMARASI

Recently i was on a working trip to Kupang, i was appointed to assist the local tour operator to make sure of all the tours were well execute..Our client was a German Cruise ship on a certain period of month they come and visit some of our port around indonesia and KUPANG was their first stop. One of the main attraction was to visit a village called BAUN. Here i was surprise that after all these years of surviving so many wars and colonialism they still hold their believe and culture, but as time goes by people get smarter and start to forget who they are and where they are coming from..as i walk to a small and humble house with most of the wall had a crack here and there i sat on an old style living room chair set waiting for a great man. A motorcycle stopped outside the house and a tall old man with white hair dark skin came inside the house THIS IS THE LAST KING OF AMARASI,,we talked for awhile and did manage to ask a view question but mostly he was talking about his past glorious day when his father was still alive and his dreams to make the village known not from his father and his great great grand father did but just to be well presentable like the rest of the region around Indonesia..this is just one of THE FORGOTTEN KING around INDONESIA..

A typical wood house made from coconut tree..you can find this type of house mostly in all area by the beach around Indonesia. But different province different style but common materials are from coconut tree they are strong but less expensive than teak wood like most old house build on city area. For example in Jogjakarta most of the house made from teak but areas like Lombok the house made from Coconut tree. This type of house suitable for tropical climate, less maintenance and last long. Now days you can find a lot of private contractors offer a knock down house for sale, you can either have your own design or choose typical coconut tree house available with price range from USD 200/square metres up to USD 1000/square metres depends on style and design you choose..GO GREEN..
